Have you recently publish a cookbook and are looking for someone to review it? Cookbook Reviews are my specialty! I can give you an honest review and help market it towards your target audience!
It all started with a collection of more then 100 cookbooks. I was on a mission to cook through all of them so I can figure out which ones were worth keeping.
While I have enjoyed cooking through the books in my collection, I also have grown to realize this experience can help publishers spread the word about their new book to a brand new set of eyes.
Helpful and Honest Cookbook Reviews

How Can I Help With Your Cookbook?
If we have the same style of cooking and our target audiences match up, then your cookbook would be a wonderful fit for this site.
What Style of Cooking and Types of Recipes Will Be a Good Fit?
My audience consists of busy families who are looking for not only easy recipes to place on their dinner tables, but recipes that consist of seven ingredients or less (excluding water).
These ingredients also should be regular pantry items that can be found at any general grocery store and shouldn’t call for an out of the way trip to a specialty store. Comfort style meals are always a plus!
How Will You Pick the Recipes to Review?
I will pick a total of 4 recipes to review throughout the cookbook, preferably spread out (for example: one appetizer, one main course, one side dish, and one dessert) so the reader can get an overall feel for each section of the book.
How Will You Advertise the Reviews?
I will write a blog post that will summarize my experience making all 4 recipes. This blog post will be heavily optimized for SEO so it can have a long shelf life with Google.
It will also contain 4 appetizing pictures of each recipe and will reference where it can be found in the book. At the end of the post, I will give an honest recommendation.
I will also make sure the post will be pinned onto specified Cookbook Review boards on Cooking With Libby’s Pinterest account. Also included in this advertisement will be a Facebook Live video targeted to your specific audience.
As an added bonus, I will also add an honest review on my Goodreads.com profile (optional).
How Will You Rate the Recipes in the Book?
Our family of 4 (2 non-picky grown ups, an 11 year old foodie, and a super picky 9 year old) will help with the ratings. We base each recipe on the following criteria:
- If the President or someone famous will be coming to dinner, would we make this recipe for them?
- Is this recipe one where we will “call your mama or best friend” and brag about?
- Is anyone in the family going back for seconds or thirds?
- If given a chance, should I make this recipe again for them?
I also will rate the recipes by the following:
- Are the directions easy to follow and thoroughly written (i.e. will it state using unsalted butter vs. salted, room temperature cream cheese vs. refrigerated, etc..)
- Was it easy for me to shop for the ingredients or did I have to go to two or three stores to obtain them?
- How much time did it take to make the recipe from start to finish?
