Ingredients and Tips for This Fluffy Cherry Pie

Wondering what you need to make this dessert? I got you covered below!

  • Cook and Serve Vanilla Pudding: Be careful not to purchase the instant vanilla pudding. The recipe will not work with instant version. Using this version gives the filling ample time to set.
  • Cherry Jello: If you aren’t a cherry fan, Strawberry Jello will work just as well.
  • Graham Cracker Pie Crust: We enjoy using this pre-made Keebler Graham Cracker Crust, or make your own. Make sure it’s about 9 to 10 inches in diameter.
  • Cool Whip: You can certainly make your own homemade whipped cream, however, using Cool Whip will work just the same and is quicker.
  • Mini-Marshmallows: If you aren’t a fan of marshmallows, you can omit this ingredient.

Can I Make This Cherry Fluff Pie Ahead of Time?

Yes you can. I would suggest making this pie up to at least 2 days before serving. It is recommended not to make it over 2 days ahead due to the setting of the pudding. The pie will keep well in the refrigerator for a few days.

What Can I Use Instead of Cherries in This Pie?

If you aren’t a fan of cherries, feel free to use Strawberry Jello along with fresh, cut up strawberries in the filling. Top the pie with a layer of Cool Whip and strawberries for garnish.

Can I Freeze This Easy Cherry Fluff Pie?

Freezing this dessert will change the consistency of the filling, therefore freezing for later consumption is not recommended. You can certainly make this pie a few days ahead of time.

How Long Will This Pie Last in the Refrigerator?

If you have any left overs of this pie, it will last no longer then 3 days in the refrigerator. Please make sure to store left overs in a cool and chilled place due to the contents of the pudding.

Can I Use a Homemade Graham Cracker Crust Instead of a Pre-Made One?

If using a pre-made graham cracker crust isn’t what you desire, you can certainly use a homemade graham crust as a substitution. This Graham Cracker Crust Recipe from Taste of Home is a great one to make with this recipe.
